Visite guidée : the village of Montmartre

An enjoyable stroll through the artsy Montmartre district.
Montmartre was and still is one of the most bucolic and picturesque area of Paris. It stands on a limestone hill 425 feet high. The white Sacre Coeur Basilica towers over Paris.
This area is famous for its nightlife and artists. The district was thoughout the 19 century the mecca of all those artists who believed that Bohemian life meant living freely. Artists including Picasso,Van Gogh, Modigliani,Renoir,Toulouse-Lautrec all lived or worked in the area.

Join a guide passionately fonds of Montmartre on an exploration of the area,stroll down narrow cobble stone Streets ,past-centuries churches,charming shops and small houses (comparable in some aspects with thatched cottages) adorned with flowers pots and rod iron balconies.
Avoiding climbing too numerous stairs, we embark on a funicular to go to the highest spot readily and wander down from the top to the bottom of the hilly district.
