-Poetic Masterpiece
I've been following the work of choreographer Maggie Boogaart the last 10 years and every time I've been amazed. Her work is not only beautiful and technically great, but is also poetic and engaged. She has an incredible charisma, talent and she is always concerned about the human and ecological issues our world is facing today. She writes in movements and light and give a voice to those who doesn't. I've been assisting to rehearsals of this show and Im willing to see the show! -La Mer
"La Mer" of Ghislain de Compreignac is a new abstract classical ballet choreography created to the eponymous piece by Debussy. Seeing it rehearsed once moved me deeply. It gave me the impression of separateness and in the same time oneness of the sea waves, that look like they can be distinguished from one another and yet are all vibrations of the water with no defined limits. These waves, gentle in the beginning turn into turbulent but yet highly organized motion as the music develops towards culmination, leaving me with a picture of individual beings carried by the unruly swirl of life of which they have no control.

Un spectacle à ne surtout pas manquer! J'ai assisté à une répétition et également aux précédentes créations de Maggie Boggart. Chaque année à travers un travail intense cette chorégraphe amène ses danseurs amateurs et professionnels à une performance de qualité, qui dévoile le potentiel de chacun et qui ne laisse pas le public indifférent. Cette année, l'ambition est encore plus grande et plus belle: réunir sur scène danseurs, chanteuse, et image au nom d'une cause environnementale. Car la danse à Paris Marais Dance School c'est aussi un engagement sociétal, une volonté d'éveiller des consciences à travers l'art. Cette performance mêlant danse, théâtre, chant et image promet d'être subtile, poignante et impressionnante. Elle vous transportera à travers l'histoire de l'humanité et de l'océan.
