Rencontre avec Dave Brinks

Dave Brinks est un fidèle de la communauté de poésie américaine, le fondateur de la Nouvelle-Orléans l'École pour l'Imagination, éditeur d'Entrepôt et rédacteur(éditeur) d'YAWP, un Journal de Poésie et Art.
La famille des Bords est de la Nouvelle-Orléans.
Sa mère est la moitié Acadian le français et son père est la moitié Choctaw l'Autochtone l'Amérique.

Sa poésie et essais ont paru dans des magazines, des journaux et des anthologies partout aux États-Unis, Canada et À l'étranger la Nation, le Cadavre Exquis, Shambhala le Soleil, Scrisul Românesc, Metaphora, Vlak, l'Explorateur Ses oeuvres(travaux) ont aussi été représentées sur les Voix de la Radio Publique nationale et l'Heure de Nouvelles du PBS' avec Jim Lehrer.

Brinks lives in New Orleans with his wife, poet Megan Burns, and their three children.

His poetry and essays have appeared in magazines, newspapers, journals and anthologies throughout the United States, Canada, and overseas including The Nation, Exquisite Corpse, Shambhala Sun, Scrisul Românesc, Metaphora, Vlak, National Geographic Explorer, Louisiana Cultural Vistas and Gathering of the Tribes.
His works also have been featured on National Public Radio's Hearing Voices and PBS' News Hour with Jim Lehrer.
Brinks is the author of six published collections of poetry including the critically acclaimed The Caveat Onus (Black Widow Press 2009).
Currently Brinks is at work on a biography of early jazz pioneer Emile Barnes; as well a new collection of poetry titled The Geometry of Sound—an experimental, cross-disciplinary study which explores the origins of alphabets, ideograms and pictographs, with specific locus to phoneme-based patterns and linguistic genomes found naturally occurring in the environment through hexagonal structures and frequencies derived from the I Ching. Brinks' latest book, The Secret Brian, Selected Poems 1996 – 2012, is forthcoming from Black Widow Press in October 2012. Lediana Stillio et Sabahate Byci l'accompagneront en lecture.
